Case description

Kaposi's sarcoma is a sarcoma of vascular cell origin whose incidence has increased dramatically as a result of the appearance of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome [AIDS]. Kaposi's sarcoma usually presents as a raised purplish-red nodule of that continues to expand and enlarge. The diagnosis is made by biopsy. A diagnosis of Kaposi's sarcoma strongly raises the possibility of positive HIV status.
