Case description

Solar keratoses are premalignant lesions that arise on the sun exposed areas of the skin. Clinically, solar keratoses appear as dry, rough and adherent scaly lesions. Occasionally, solar keratoses produce a circumscribed conical hyperkeratotic excrescence, which is known as a cutaneous horn. A solar keratosis is considered to be premalignant as it may develop into a squamous cell carcinoma.
