Case description

Idiopathic Cystic Chondromalacia is a cystic degeneration of the auricular cartilage of unknown origin, which may be mistaken both clinically and histologically for relapsing polychondritis. Clinically, this disease presents as an isolated, unilateral, asymptomatic swelling most commonly on the anterior surface of the pinna. These pseudocysts may be the result of repeated local minor trauma to the auricular cartilage.
