Case description

Preauricular pits are relatively shallow pits that result either from a failure in the fusion of the primitive ear hillocks or from the defective closure of the first brachial cleft. Preauricular pits are most characteristically located in, or just in front of the anterior crus of the helix. Preauricular pits are inherited through an autosomal dominant gene with incomplete penetrance.
