Case description

In adhesive otitis media, the tympanic membrane is retracted and fixed to the medial wall of the middle ear by fibrous adhesions which have developed in response to previous inflammatory disease. There is a large kidney shaped posterior retraction pocket which has become an inherent the medial wall of this right middle ear.
