Case description

This photograph shows the histopathology of an osteoma, arising in the external auditory canal. Unlike exostoses, an osteoma is a true benign tumor of bone. Histologically, an osteoma consists of cancellous bone as opposed to the ivory like dense bone seen in an exostosis.
