Extruding Ventilation Tube
Case description
Almost all ventilation tubes placed in the tympanic membrane are ultimately extruded. The time from insertion to extrusion varies from two months to over two years depending upon the type of tube placed and the tympanic membrane's reaction to it. Surprisingly the area in which the tube was placed usually heals with no visible scarring.
