Case description

Bleeding from tonsillectomy bed in a patient who had tonsillectomy 10 days earlier. This secondary bleeding is generally due to infection. Examination under anaesthesia, removal of clot and haemostasis are indicated. Broad-spectrum intravenous antibiotic with anaerobe coverage was given and showed dramatic response after 24 hours of administration. (T-tongue, U - uvula, PPW - posterior pharyngeal wall, X - blood clot at left tonsil bed, R -right, L - left)
