Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release (ECTR)

The carpal tunnel is located on the palmar side of the wrist. It connects forearm to the middle compartment of the deep plane of the palm. There are several structures that are inside of it: bones, connective tissue, several tendons and median nerve. The narrowing of the tunnel caused by, for example: swelling of one of the tendons, can result in median nerve being compressed. That is a common medical condition known as carpal tunnel syndrome.
