Patient having residual non clearing vitreous haemorrhage due to diabetic retinopathy requiring laser treatments is taken for combined surgery . Phaco and vitrectomy. As the red reflex is poor in such cases for phaco, a 25 gauge chandelier is placed prior to phaco by our phaco specialist Dr Sheetal Mahuvakar and the phaco is carried out with the retroillumination reflex given by the chandelier light .
