Case description

These are benign neoplasms arising from nerve sheath of nerves all over body, and in brain, from cranial nerves, acoustic /vestibulo- cochlear nerve is commonly affected. They present with hearing impairment, ringing noise in the ear on affected side, and giddiness. They grow slowly. ENT examination will diagnose the problem and MRI SCAN/AUDIOMETRY are mandatory Micro surgical excision is treatment of choice, there are various approaches to the tumor depending on size, location and direction of growth and surgical speciality like ENT/NEUROSURGEON. Surgical excision is cure, preservation of facial nerve is priority, when lesion is small even hearing could be preserved.
