Case description

This video demonstrates traditional laparoscopic technique for removing partial thickness endometriosis from the anterior rectal wall, with suture repair / reinforcement. This technique can be used in cases where there is deep infiltrating endometriosis involving the serosa and muscularis of the rectum or sigmoid wall, without full thickness penetration, and over a relatively small area of bowel. This technique preserves continuity of the bowel and does not require colotomy with resultant risk of fistula or abscess.
