Case description

The purpose of the video is to show an endoscopic method of tracheoplasty in the 18-week of pregnancy. A 19-year old lady in a 18-week of pregnancy, previously delivered in 26 week due to cervix incontinence. Current therapy often includes ultrasound control with a cervix shortening. Some specialists are in favuor of performing a traditional cerclage of the vagina with Shirodkar or McDonald method at once. The higher the suture is made, the better (that is why laparoscopy is a good alternative), but a special careful need to be paid not to rupture vessels or margins of the uterus. This film is a presentation of the, performed in mid-trimester, tracheoplasty with a laparoscopic approach. Authors: Greg J. Marchand, MD and Richard H. Demir, MD.
