Case description

72-year-old female patient. BMI 21.0 kg/m2. A pancreatic head tumor (highly suggestive of malignancy). Presented with jaundice (preoperative stenting with self-expandable stent), 8 kg weight loss, CA 19-9 - 664 U/ml, DM2 (very poor and difficult glycemic control), no distant metastases in preoperative imaging.
After preoperative counseling with the patient, due to uncontrolled DM2 the patient was scheduled for total pancreatectomy.
