This talk was presented by Claudius Conrad, MD, PhD at the Postgraduate Course: ILLS Joint Session - Techniques of Laparoscopic Liver Resection Video Session and Liver Tumor Board on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the SAGES 2017 Annual Meeting.
Dr. Conrad reviews the importance of thinking outside the box when it comes to superior segments. Segments 7 & 8 are typically thought to be the hardest segments to approach laparoscopically. Techniques to improve visualization and access via trans-thoracic trocars are discussed with many unique pearls on how to do this efficiently and safely.
