Case description

This video shows single incision laparoscopic ileostomy takedown and cholecystectomy. This operation is performed at the 28-year old woman with perforated Crohn's disease. One month prior to presentation she had a laparoscopic washout by gynecologist for PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). She underwent emergent exploration with wash out, ileocecal resection and end ileostomy. Then she had a colonoscopy and SBFT (small-bowel follow through)-there didn't show any evidence of IBD (inflammatory bowel diseases). Also she was diagnosed with chronic cholecystitis. 6 months later she was taken back for ileostomy take down and cholecystectomy. In this video we can see: free up stomia and reduced bowel, insert SILS port, stagger trocar height, initial view, lysing adhesions with ligasure, begin cholecystectomy, mobilize right colon, freeing hepatic flexure, TI and proximal right colon, final look at anastomosis and then final result.
