Case description

This webinar introduces common drug treatments for advanced and metastatic prostate cancer. Dr Andrew Feifer discusses the role of testosterone and the androgen receptor in the development and growth of prostate cancer. He also discusses the efficacy and side effects of drug-based treatments, including hormone therapy and novel therapies for castration-resistant prostate cancer. Dr Feifer is a urologic oncologist at the Carlo Fidani Cancer Centre at Credit Valley Hospital where he specializes in the management of advanced castrate resistant prostate cancer. He is also an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Toronto and a faculty member at Princess Margaret (University Health Network). Dr Feifer maintains active research interest in urologic oncology outcomes, quality of care in surgery and comparative effectiveness of new surgical techniques.
