Case description

A 30 year old woman, who had a continuous cardiac nurmur (grade 3/6, best heard at the second left intercostal space). Her echocardiogram and ECG are shown in this video. She was asymptomatic. Physical examination also revealed wide pulse pressure. Echo showed patent ductus arteriosus of small to moderate size, and normal estimated pulmonary arterial pressure. The PDA was closed by cardiac catheterization with placement of a closure device in a specialized center.
