Case description

A central venous catheter (CVC), is a catheter placed into a internal jugular vein, subclavian vein, axillary vein or femoral vein. It is used to administer medication or fluids, obtain blood tests, measure central venous pressure and for hemodialysis. The following video shows how the catheter is placed in the internal jugular vein via the Seldinger technique. Presented by dr Murat Güçlü Elevli.
