- Gianluca Garulli is head physician of the Department of General and Thoracic Surgery at the hospitals of Riccione and Cattolica, both part of the Local Health Unit of Rimini. He is also head of the Division of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the hospital of Rimini. Since 1991 he has been focusing his work on laparoscopic surgery, a minimally invasive surgery technique used to perform operations on the the abdomen and in thoracic cavity. Dr. Garulli is currently regarded as a pioneer in the treatment of abdominal neoplasms.
