Case description

Patients with the ASA Triad often have the most aggressive nasal polyps. Note the abnormally thick yellowish mucus that is often associated with this condition. The mucus may be so thick and rubbery in consistency that it may initially be confused with a nasal polyp. Despite intensive medical therapy, the need for surgical removal of nasal polyps in AERD is very common, though unfortunately the rate of recurrence of nasal polyps after surgery is high.
