Case description

This large yellowish green crust was removed from the nasal cavity of the patient with iatrogenic atrophic rhinitis. These foul-smelling crusts result the associated acquired atrophy of the cilia which prevents the mucus blanket from being carried normally into the nasopharynx. The stagnant infected mucus gradually drives into a hard yellowish green foul-smelling crust.
