Case description

The posterior superior quadrant of this right tympanic membrane has been retracted medially because of years of eustachian tube dysfunction and increased negative pressure in the middle ear. One can clearly see the long process of the incus connected to the head of the stapes clearly. This is a self cleansing retraction pocket[there is no accumulation of keratin debris].
