Case description

This patient presented with a severe acute otitis media with a bulging tympanic membrane. One hour later the tympanic membrane ruptured spontaneously and the purulent material in the middle year discharged into the external canal. You can see a small drop of purulent material just in the central portion of the tympanic membrane. This is referred to as "nature's myringotomy".
