Case description

This photograph shows the typical appearance of the aspirate from a patient with serous otitis media. Note the golden yellow watery clear fluid. The complete transparency of the middle ear fluid in these patients allow the structures of the medial wall of the middle ear to be clearly visualized through the tympanic membrane.
