Case description

Each hair goes through three phases of growth: anagen, a phase of full activity, catagen-involution and telogen-rest. These cycles follow rhythmically. Hair growth on the hairy scalp is influenced by many factors such as age, diet, care. The study included detailed analysis of imaging methods: ultrasonography, clinical photography and microscopic examination to determine the growth rate, consistency and thickness of hair. Materials and Methods: 12 volunteers applied the herbal preparation for hair growth. Some of the hair was shaved, the preparation was rubbed for 7 weeks and then the hair was removed for testing. High frequency ultrasonography (33 MHz) was used for imaging of the hair follicle and parts of the hair shaft beneath the surface of the skin
