Case description

In this video, Dr. Millett discusses arthrsocopic superior capsular reconstruction for irreparable rotator cuff tears. The size of the tear is measured in a sagittal and coronal plane in order to determine the size of the patch that will be used to reconstruct the superior capsule.

The greater tuberosity and the superior glenoid are prepared with a motorized rasp. The first glenoid anchor is established. On the humeral side anchor is then inserted. A patch is prepared and suture strands are shuttled through the patch. The patch is then inserted into the shoulder with an arthroscopic knot pusher. Microfracture of the greater tuberosity is performed.
