Case description

To prevent the development of phantom hernia following laparoscopic repair of a large direct inguinal hernia, the attenuated transversalis fascia is tucked and fixed to the periosteum of the superior pubic ramus. Care must be taken to avoid injury to a possible accessory obturator artery or the corona mortis.
