Study Objective
The objective of the video is to provide an overview of laparoscopic peritoneal entry techniques for gynecologic surgery.

Methods
This is an educational video. Institutional review board approval was not required for this video article as the video describes surgical techniques and does not described a clinical case. The patients provided consent for the video and cannot be identified. All animations were created by the authors.

Results
This educational video provides an overview of peritoneal entry techniques, describes the anatomy related to peritoneal entry, demonstrates different types of peritoneal entry techniques and discusses tips and tricks for successful peritoneal entry. This video may serve as an educational tool for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery training.

Conclusion
Multiple peritoneal entry techniques exist and are all acceptable methods. Complications from peritoneal entry are low but can be severe if they do occur. It is important to understand abdominal wall anatomy as it pertains to various entry techniques and entry locations to allow for efficient entry and to avoid injury to underlying structures. Entry techniques should be tailored to surgeon experience, patient characteristics and type of pathology.
