It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the European Hernia Society (EHS) Annual Congress in the beautiful and vibrant city of Porto. This meeting is being prepared with great enthusiasm and dedication, aiming to bring together surgeons from around the world to share knowledge, strengthen collaborations, and celebrate innovation in hernia surgery.
Over the past years, the EHS has continued to grow and strengthen its position as a leading international reference in hernia research, education, and clinical practice. This progress reflects the extraordinary dedication, curiosity, and passion of our members, who share a common goal: to improve the quality of care for patients with abdominal wall and hernia conditions worldwide.
Hernia remains one of the most prevalent surgical conditions globally, and its management continues to evolve rapidly thanks to new technologies, materials, and techniques. The EHS plays a central role in guiding this evolution by fostering scientific exchange, promoting training and education, and supporting innovation and evidence-based practice.
