We are delighted to be offering a minimally invasive surgery mini-fellowship with free tuition for postgraduate urologic surgeons who are interested in introducing into their practice or academic department cutting-edge technology for renal tumor management. This program is offered three times annually and is limited to six participants who will work closely with an assigned preceptor and dedicated instructors on the UC Irvine faculty in didactic and hands-on laboratorysessions, along with operating room observation of surgical procedures.

The course is held from mid-day Saturday to mid-day Tuesday, affording urologists an optimized experience with maximal skills and knowledge transfer with minimal loss of active time. The program is fully-funded (no tuition fee), and participants pay only for their travel expenses, meals and hotel costs. The program is hosted at the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort, Newport Coast, Calif., offering luxurious accommodations and world-class facilities.

Optimized experience with maximal skills and knowledge transfer. This unique three-day program is entirely devoted to the transfer of advanced technical skills. This module includes a half-day of didactic sessions and a full day of hands-on laboratory surgical training with animate laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic procedures; standardized patient ultrasound training; and cadaveric CT-guided ablation training. There will be a day-and a-half of live surgical case observation that includes laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic partial nephrectomy, laparoscopic and percutaneous cryoablation, laparoscopic nephrectomy, laparoscopic nephroureterectomy, and endoscopic biopsy and ablation of upper tract transitional cell carcinoma (depending on patient availability).

Each attendee will be requested to complete a multiple-choice examination at the completion of the program.
