 9th October 2013 - 10th October 2013 Course Convenors: Dr Simon Gabe, Dr Alison Culkin A 2 day course incorporating our IF study day and HPN workshop. This course will be of interest to all members of the multidisciplinary team who care for patients with acute and chronic intestinal failure. Aspects of the medical, surgical, dietetic, nursing and pharmaceutical management will be discussed, with the opportunity to participate in small workshops focusing on some of the key elements of intestinal failure care. Topics will include: Acute and chronic intestinal failure plus home parenteral nutrition including the medical, surgical, dietetic and pharmaceuitcal management. Target Audience: Any healthcare professional interested and involved in looking after patients with acute and chronic intestinal failure including those requiring home parenteral nutrition. Learning Style: Lectures and workshops Learning Objectives: To increase the knowledge and skills of delegates to help improve the care of patients with intestinal failure and those requiring home parenteral nutrition. Day one (9th October 2013): A study day on the management of Intestinal Failure. Day two (10th October 2013): A workshop on the management of Home Parenteral Nutrition (Maximum 40 participants).
