In this educational session led by Dr. Akram Jaffar, Ph.D., students will learn key aspects of head and neck anatomy. Key learning points include:
Boundaries and contents of the temporal fossa. Attachments and functions of the four muscles of mastication: Temporalis, Masseter, Lateral Pterygoid, and Medial Pterygoid.Osteology of the infratemporal region. Detailed analysis of the mandibular nerve, including its divisions, branches, and distribution. Exploration of specific nerves: Auriculotemporal, Lingual, and Inferior Alveolar Nerve, including their clinical anatomy and nerve block techniques. Anatomy of the maxillary artery and the pterygoid venous plexus.
