Case description

Dermal fillers are substances or materials made from hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyaluronic acid is something found in all living organisms. It gives volume and support to the cells and tissues in the human body As we grow older, HA levels in the body deplete. Thus our skin begins to lose volume, elasticity and starts to sag. The sagging leads to appearance of jowls and wrinkles, which in turn makes us look older. Dermal fillers which are synthetically made but fully compatible to the human body can be injected into areas with volume loss and fine lines. Examples of such areas include the temples, cheeks and laugh lines. Dermal fillers can also be used to inject to the nose, chin and lips to give more definition and enhance the shape. For example, dermal fillers can make the nose straighter, higher and a more pointed tip which is physically more appealing. Video presented by Dr Kee Yong Seng from Premier Clinic Kuala Lumpur.
