Choosing Wisely UK is part of a global initiative which aims to reduce unnecessary tests and treatment by promoting shared decision-making conversations between patients and their healthcare professionals. The British Society for Rheumatology’s (BSR) recommendations were developed in partnership with patients, nurses, and primary and secondary care clinicians. This webinar outlined the principles of Choosing Wisely UK including a discussion around shared decision making. It set out the process by which the BSR’s recommendations were developed, before discussing each recommendation in turn and what it means for practice.
