Aim of the course
This in-person, interactive program offers a comprehensive understanding of oncology, covering topics such as cancer biology, prevention, surgical techniques, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- Identify common patterns in cancer progression and patterns of recognition, providing surgical residents and consultants with tools for early diagnosis and tailored treatment planning.
- Explore the importance of cancer prevention and screening, with a specific focus on the European Beating Cancer Plan, and grasp the significance of early detection in improving patient outcomes.
- Discuss the integration of various treatment modalities, such as systemic chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and local ablation techniques, within a multimodal approach to managing cancer.
