This course in Women's Neurology will aim to raise awareness about issues specific to women with neurologic disease by examining gender differences with an emphasis on pregnancy and family planning. The course is designed to address the continuing education of physicians in neurology, internal medicine, family practice and obstetrics. The focus will be on providing highquality integrated information and education based on leading edge research on women's health and gender specific care in neurology.

A range of women's health issues and their intersection with neurological disease will be discussed. Some of these topics will include reproductive health, pregnancy and family planning. The course will include a review of emerging science and controversies about sex differences in neurological illnesses and the application of this knowledge to the delivery of care.

Topics include issues unique to women as well as medical problems that afflict both men and women but which may have different risk, prevalence, presentation, response to treatment or outcomes in women. Based on educational objectives, the formats include lectures, case discussions and presentations. Lecturers would address known areas of sex difference within their topic/area of expertise, and how clinical conditions and their effects may present, be evaluated, and be treated. Panel discussions would focus on particular cases with complicated co-morbidities reflecting the kinds of patients who may be seen by multiple providers within a hospital.
