The COVID-19 pandemic took the world by surprise.
An AMR induced pandemic will not.

The World Bank estimates that 10 million people per year could die if new antimicrobials are not found. Without effective prevention and treatment of infections, medical procedures such as organ transplantation, cancer chemotherapy, and major surgery will become too dangerous to perform.

In the Pharmaceutical Strategy for Europe, the European Commission declared that “new business models are required” if we are to meet this challenge and succeed, spotlighting 2022 as the year when change needs to happen.

Join us to discuss how we can drive investment in antimicrobials R&D and set out a roadmap to a sustainable innovation ecosystem that will safeguard society against the threat of AMR.

With thanks from the organisers, an EFPIA initiative, in collaboration with Reuters Events.
