AMEE 2020: The Virtual Conference

Each year the AMEE Conference is a much valued opportunity for those involved in health professions education to meet and share their experiences. However, after much thought and with great regret, it will not be possible to hold AMEE 2020 in Glasgow from 4-9 September, as previously planned. Whilst it is hoped that the peak of Covid-19 infections will have passed by that time, it is clear that the effects will be felt across the world for many months and years to come, and travelling to an international conference may not at that time be desirable, justifiable or even possible for many potential participants.

However, we couldn’t let a year go past without an AMEE conference, and for this reason we announce an exciting new virtual format for the Conference, to be known as AMEE 2020: The Virtual Conference. This experience will offer an opportunity to participate in many types of sessions, all accessible from your home or office with no travel or hotel costs, and a flexible time commitment. The Conference will maintain the quality of education that AMEE is known to deliver, and the virtual format offers many opportunities.

Plans are well advanced, and we will be making a further announcement soon about how you can participate in this exciting new AMEE venture.

If you have already registered for AMEE 2020, or if you have submitted an abstract, or have already had a contribution accepted for the programme, we will be communicating with you separately. We apologise that abstract decisions to be selected for AMEE 2020: The Virtual Conference may take longer than anticipated.
