75th Korean Congress of Radiology 2019 (KCR 2019)

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 75th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2019), it is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to KCR 2019 to be held from September 18 (Wed) to 21 (Sat), 2019 in Seoul, Korea.

It is the wish of the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR), the organizing society of KCR, to have the privilege to share its experience and knowhow with colleagues from all over the world through KCR 2019. KSR opened its congress to the international audience in 2007, and since then, the number of sessions conducted in English has continued to increase. This shows the dedication of KSR to share its expertise and grow together with the rest of the world for the future of radiology. In particular, the 2019 edition of KCR will see its duration extended to four days to propose more sessions and share even more knowledge and information in the field of radiology.

With the start of my presidency, KSR coined a new slogan: “Value-based Radiology for Patients.” In medicine, value-based healthcare focuses on the value created for patients, striving to prolong and improve the quality of their lives. This outlook impacts the way doctors treat their patients. As radiologists, we must play an active and central role in promoting value-based healthcare by managing all our medical practices with the health and quality of the lives of our patients in mind.

In light of the above, the KCR 2019 Organizing Committee has chosen “Mapping the Future: Value-based Radiology for Patients” as the theme of this year’s congress. We are designing the best possible program with high quality scientific sessions that will provide all participants with the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest research findings. KCR 2019 is planning to invite 40 world-renowned scholars from 10 countries along with distinguished radiology experts from Korea. Among them, Dr. Vijay Rao (Thomas Jefferson University) will speak at the Congress Lecture, and Drs. Seung Hyup Kim (Seoul National University Hospital), Gabriel Krestin (Erasmus University Medical Center), and Kamran Ahrar (The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center) will deliver Plenary Lectures.

Last but not least, in addition to providing a significant platform for exchanging valuable ideas, KCR 2019 will offer its participants a chance to socialize and interact with colleagues and friends from all parts of the world.

I believe that KCR 2019 will bring innovation and further advancement to the scientific level and quality of the study of radiology. In this regard, I extend my heartfelt invitation to you to join us at KCR 2019 in Seoul during the beautiful season of September. I am looking forward to seeing you at the congress.
