6th Sports & Arthritis MSK Conference

Ladies and Gentelmen, Dear Colleagues,

we would like to invite all the enthusiasts of diagnostics and treatment of the musculoskeletal system to the 6th Sports & Arthritis MSK Conference which will take place on the 15–16 November 2019 in Poznan.
The tradition of this conference is to invite participants and speakers to the most interesting and most beautiful Polish cities every year. Poznan has been an important cultural and political centre since the beginning of the Polish history. Mieszko I, the first historically recorded ruler of the Polans and of the early Polish state which they dominated, built one of his main stable headquarters in Poznan. Mieszko's baptism of 966, seen as a defining moment in the Christianization of the Polish state, may have taken place in Poznan. Finally, Poznan's cathedral was the place of burial of the early Piast monarchs (Mieszko I, Boleslaus I, Mieszko II, Casimir I), and later of Przemysł I and King Przemysł II.

This beautiful city is the place where we will spend 2 days discussing and teaching imaging of the upper limb pathologies.

The 2019 Conference is co-organised by the radiological and orthopaedic societies and sections:

Department of Radiology, National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Warsaw,
Hand Surgery Department, University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Sports Section of the Polish Radiological Society,
Sports and Arthritis Subcommittees of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology, and Polish Society of the Shoulder and Elbow.

This year’s conference will be unique due to the significant contribution of orthopaedists and an increased number of practical workshop sessions.
Already on 14 November, on Thursday, a day before the conference, we invite all interested radiologists and orthopaedists to the MR workshop. At the workstations and under the supervision of mentors, we will teach how to interpret MR imaging, starting from the anatomy and then moving on to specific pathologies of the shoulder, elbow and hand and wrist.

Additionally, being aware of the need for closer interdisciplinary co-operation, we have invited renowned orthopaedists who will deliver the opening lectures of each session. They will discuss what they expect from radiologists in order for the diagnostic process to bring as many benefits to patients as possible and to make the co-operation between our disciplines more satisfying.
The biggest advantage of our conferences is the undisputable expertise of our lecturers, from Poland and abroad, interesting lectures, and our empathetic atmosphere.
