24th European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery

Dear Members and Friends
On behalf of the Councillors and the Program Committee of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Naples, the largest city in southern Italy and often called an open-air museum, for the 24th European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery.
Again we expect this meeting will be the largest in the World fully dedicated to Thoracic Surgery. We have been enthusiastically working to develop an appealing program under the leadership of Enrico Ruffini, Director of the Program Committee. This year we are including a new edition of the Europe, America and Asia collaborative Post-Graduate Course, interesting monographic sessions in cooperation with allied Societies and many sessions where you can bring the results of your investigations for presentation and discussion with colleagues from different countries. We are also happy to organise again a session specially dedicated to our trainees and a symposium for allied professionals working with thoracic patients.
As in the previous meetings, the most renowned specialists from all around the World will be attending and will be available for discussing ideas and projects between sessions. This personal contact with colleagues and also with our industry partners, is a source for improving knowledge and skills and a great occasion for making new friends from different parts of the World.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to greet you personally in Naples and I hope that the efforts of the whole Organizing Committee, moderators, guest speakers and participants will contribute to our personal and professional enrichment and improved outcomes for our patients.
