We have the pleasure to invite you to participate in a one day intensive scientific meeting, traditionally held at the “Foundation Gemelli" University Hospital in Rome. Once again, the event is called “2015.COM", where COM stands in Italian for "Chirurgia Oncologica Mini-Invasiva" ( Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncology ).

From its first edition, in 2004, this meeting has been gaining a wider audience and to date it has definitely become an international scientific event, especially but not exclusively focusing on Upper Gastro-Intestinal Surgical Oncology.

The “2015.COM" is supported by the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO), but it also offers free registration to all members of many other Italian Surgical Societies, in the light of cooperating towards the best and widest education in contemporary surgery. The topics of “2015.com” will include a special focus about the rise of curative laparoscopic D2 gastric resections, stressing the different perspectives between East and West in technical approaches and extent of application for early and advanced cancers.

New mini-invasive treatment options for oesophago-gastric tumors will also be highlighted and a particular attention will be given to the growing trend towards Enhanced Recovery (ERAS) protocols. Novel topics, such as metastasectomy, palliative gastrectomy, possible treatment of peritoneal diffusion and new combined modality neo-adjuvant approaches will also be discussed by prominent experts.

Last but not least, we are delighted to announce a thematic “Video-Forum” chaired by prof. Palazzini, who devoted many efforts to the international standardization of surgical techniques by emphasizing the role of Video-Surgery worldwide.

The organizing committee is proud about the participation of an exceptional International Faculty, including the current Presidents of the Italian Society of Surgery and the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology besides exceptional International guests from South Korea and from the Netherlands.
