On behalf of the Spine Society of Australia, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the Society’s 26th Annual Scientific Meeting, to be held in our national capital, Canberra from 10th to 12th of April 2015. The meeting is to be held at the National Convention Centre, with accommodation choices close by.

Our 2015 meeting theme will be “Complications in spinal surgery; Management and revision strategies”.

Discussion will embrace all aspects of dealing with the difficult medical and surgical problems we may encounter with patients undergoing treatment for sometimes very complex spinal conditions. This topic will be appealing to both neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons practising in a field of spinal surgery.

As in previous years, international guest speakers will make a strong contribution to the scientific programme, which is being developed by Assoc Prof Richard Williams, scientific convener. The Society Session will focus on the changing area of ‘healthcare management’, particularly relating to the increasing influence on patient care by health insurance funds in Australia.

There will also be the return of the “Getting of Surgical Wisdom” session, in which we will learn from our senior and well-respected colleagues, and their past experiences.

This annual conference is an opportunity for delegates to exchange ideas, share research and communicate on all matters concerning the spine.
