Case description

a smoker presented with haemoptysis .

chest X ray reveals ,a right hilar mass, occupying right mid and lower zones .

the homogenous opacity has spiculating appearance at the periphery .

there is no obeying of anatomical segments and absence of airbronchogram . ,so rules out possibility of pneumonic consolidation.

learning point: mass arising from hilum in a smoker always suspect bronchogenic carcinoma
