New MRI technique reported to be effective and save for diagnostic cancer staging in children

DEffective and save imaging of neoplasmatic diseases in the youngest patients is curently a topic of several researches. The assessment of novel whole-body diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging was recently presented in „The Lancet”, including it’s comparison with computed tomography and 8F-fludeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography. CT and MRI, the verification of initial diagnosis (referral) and radiological diagnosis

Currently, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the most important imaging examinations. Selection of a suitable diagnostic method is a key factor affecting both, the quality of treatment and the financial situation in health care.
