Case description

Film presents ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy for left side ureter stone. Ureteroscopy is defined as upper urinary tract endoscopy performed most commonly with an endoscope passed through the urethra, bladder, and then directly into the upper urinary tract. Indications for ureteroscopy have broadened from diagnostic endoscopy to various minimally invasive therapies. In this case the stone is broken up by laser and removed with a stone basket. Ureteral access sheath is employed. Surgeon Lee Ponsky MD, Book chapter authors: Jonathan E. Kiechle MD and Matthew J. Maurice MD.
