Partial Nephrectomy - Laparoscopy

Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is described in this video. Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy has emrged as a viable alternative to open partial nephrectomy while minimizing patient morbidity. In the begining, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy was limited to aptients with a small, peripheral and exophytic renal tumor. With increasing laparoscopic experience, indications have been carefully expanded to include larger, central, hilar and infiltrating tumor. Choice approach depends on position of tumor. Transperitoneal approach is useful with anterior, anterolateral and lateral tumors. Retroperitoneal approach is useful with posterior, posteriomedial and posteriolateral tumors.
