Transplantation training
Transplantology, often referred to as Transplant Surgery, is a highly specialized field dedicated to the surgical transplantation of organs or tissues from one individual to another. Transplant surgeons, experts in this field, perform organ transplant procedures such as kidney, liver, heart, and lung transplants. The field also encompasses tissue and cell transplantation, including bone marrow and cornea transplants.
Transplantology requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving transplant immunologists, transplant coordinators, and anesthesiologists, among others. Transplant surgeons play a crucial role in preoperative assessments, organ procurement, and postoperative care to ensure the success of transplantation.
