There are a million ways to polish porcelain. I'm using a heatless stone and Diasheen (polishing paste). I've contacted Axis dental, but they appear insensitive to the needs of dental students.

I was taught to use a transmetal bur, 557 or diamond bur to section a PFM crown. Dr. K waltzed by and suggested I use a 330. I was like.come on - really? It works.

Use a pear shaped bur in either a fwd/reverse motion to trim crown and bridge dies efficiently. The pear shaped bur will almost develop the correct emergence profile for the die.
